The route continues to Vilar de Gomareite. From there it is called the Verea de Santiago. It is comfortable and wide. It combines stone surfacing with areas which are sometimes flooded in winter and spring. The route continues to Bobadela and Cima de Vila before entering Xunqueira de Ambía, an important spiritual centre in medieval times.

We reach the municipality of Xunqueira de Ambía. We pass through the parish of Sobradelo and cross the XVIII century Roman road or Vía Nova, which joined Bracara Augusta (Braga) and Asturica Augusta (Astorga). A surprise nowadays is that this conserves the Roman milestones, marking distances in Roman miles (1 mile=1,480 metres).
