Stage: Verín - Xinzo de Limia (through Verín)
We travel through the valley bathed by the River Albarellos, adorned in spring by large extensions of amber gorse, broom and mimosas.
At this stage we can choose whether we want to continue to Xinzo or take another variant of the road Laza
Verín- Albarellos
We leave Monterrei behind and at the fork beside the castle we take the road on the left, among vineyards, pines and broom, and continue along the route to Albarellos.
Verín - Albarellos
Albarellos- Rebordondo
Infesta lies about 4 km away, in the municipality of Monterrei. We travel through the valley bathed by the River Albarellos, adorned in spring by large extensions of amber gorse, broom and mimosas. We continue to Rebordondo, with its traditional architecture, large houses and stonework, and to Pena Verde, another authentic hamlet. Now the landscape is made up of five conical hills which rise above 800 metres.
Albarellos - Rebordondo
Rebordondo- Trasmiras
The heights of As Estibadas (849 m) await us. Farther on, Viladerrei and Trasmiras (the municipal capital). The most genuine popular architecture continues to define these Stages of the Camino. The villages on the plains have resisted wind and the rigour of the sun which blazes fiercely in summer. Sometimes it appears to be a Castilian landscape rather than the land of Galicia.
Rebordondo - Trasmiras
Trasmiras- Boado
Zos and Boado come before Xinzo de Limia, which will be the end of the route.
Trasmiras - Boado
Boado- Xinzo de Limia
Xinzo is the heart of the grand region of A Limia. There the Church of Santa Mariña de Xinzo can be visited. Here was the largest fresh water lake in Spain (dried up in the seventies): the Lagoa de Antela.
