The Way of Sant James

Since 1989, the Carballeira de Castro has hosted one of the most popular gastronomic festivals in Galicia, bringing together around 10,000 people every year, who savour around 2,000 portions of omelette and 1,000 litres of wine.
The pilgrimage includes a proclamation by a guest speaker, a tasting competition, an auction of winning omelettes, and a large dinner in the oak grove with performances by traditional groups, brass bands, and orchestras.
The organising committee and the association of housewives and housewives prepare hundreds of omelettes in all possible varieties: with cod, peppers, chorizo, meat, prawns...
Numerous groups of friends from the area share an intense festive day that ends with a multitudinous verbena.As logistical services, the organisation provides buses to Laro from Silleda, A Bandeira, and Lalín.
