Alison Stones
Alison Stones, of British and American heritage, is Emeritus Professor of History of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh. She has a PhD in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of the University of London and works in the investigation of the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages. She has published, in the Guide du pèlerin de Saint Jacques (The pilgrim's guide to Santiago de Compostela), the manuscripts of Chrétien de Troyes, Gautier de Coincy, Wace and Lanzarote-Grial, the Alexander Romance, the Cancioneros and devotees’ and liturgical manuscripts. She is a member of the Society of Antiquaries of London, honorary foreign correspondent of the Société nationale des Antiquaires de France (National Society of Antiquaries of France) and Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters). She lives between New York and Savignac-les-Églises (France).
