The Xunta de Galicia signposts the Portuguese Camino from the coast to the Town Hall of Nigrán with 16 official Stone milestones

The territorial delegate of the Xunta in Vigo, Ignacio López-Chaves, and the Manager of the Xacobeo, Rafael Sánchez Bargiela, together with the Mayor of the Town Hall of Nigrán, Juan González, checked the placing of the first official stone milestones which signpost the Portuguese Camino as it passes through the town at the parish church of San Pedro da Ramallosa.

At the Town Hall of Nigrán a total of 16 milestones of the 81 of the of the 150 kilometre Galician stretch of this Jacobean Route which has just been recognised with the approval of the Law on the Heritage of Galicia in the Galician Parliament. The new signposting of the costal Portuguese Camino, which began to be placed at the Town Hall of Baiona, provides a more guaranteed step for the security of the pilgrims who travel this Camino as it facilitates the route. Shortly, the Xacobeo will continue to place the rest of the milestones at the other Town Halls crossed by the new Pilgrimage Route to Compostela.
