A Irmandade de Fillos e Amigos de Padrón we will organize a pilgrimage from Santiago de Compostela to Padrón
A Irmandade de Fillos e Amigos de Padrón on July 5 we will organize a pilgrimage from Santiago de Compostela to Padrón. Our intention is to get the recovery and recognition of this old way that many pilgrims, in this direction, have toured throughout history. After visiting the shrine in Compostela they continued their apostolic journey to Padrón in order to discover the origin of the pilgrimage tradition, as evidenced by their testimony.
We have a thorough report on St James’s Way (commonly known by its name in Spanish: “El Camino de Santiago”), written by the prestigious researcher José Antonio de la Riera Autrán.
This short route is the last stage of the Portuguese Way to Santiago de Compostela, from Padrón to Santiago, although this time in reverse, from Santiago to Padrón.
We are now working on preparation, but we can inform in advance that we will begin our pilgrimage at the Cathedral of Santiago at 10 am arriving at Padrón in the afternoon.
On the way food and drink will be served free of charge. Besides, at no cost, there will be buses from Padrón to Santiago early in the morning.
Once completed the pilgrimage all participants will enjoy, if you like, different Jacobean and cultural attractions in Padrón and taste a varied gastronomy.
